Your Tasks:

  • The Well Construction Team Leader holds accountability for planning and execution of Field Development Projects. In particular he is responsible for project planning and executing the program in accordance with the Well Delivery Plan. He is accountable for compliance with Company policies, standards and procedures. At times when the Field Development activity is running at a lower level, the Team Leader Well Construction will assume work that normally is conducted by the Well Engineering Department. The decision of work distribution lies with the Head of Well Engineering.
  • Manages service company contracts as assigned by the Development Manager
  • Holds accountability for reporting regarding FRD projects, contractors, improvement levers
  • Assures adherence to company-wide standards and procedures for drilling in compliance with Romanian, EU regulations and OMV/Petrom's HSEQ standards and guidelines
  • Assists Development Manager to prioritize / rank work FRD projects / programs and budgets
  • Ensures application and quality of drilling processes incl. proposals for improvements

Your Profile:

  • University degree or equivalent in Petroleum Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of drilling experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in managing technical groups
  • Extended experience in "value optimised" Asset Management ("life cycle oriented productivity / cost management", optimisation of running costs and return on investment, HSEQ, mature fields operations, production / technologies, legal requirements, interaction with authorities, etc.)
  • Strong Personal commitment for HSEQ
  • Fluent English (written / spoken)

In Romania, the company produces large quantities of oil and natural gas together with Petrom, Romania's leading oil and natural gas group; OMV acquired a 51 percent stake in Petrom in 2004. Furthermore, close geographical proximity to key producing regions enables the Group to ensure the transportation of raw materials and thus the supply of its core markets.

3 businesses: E&P, G&P, R&M – Plus sustainability

The 3plus Strategy reinforces the interaction of the three businesses in order to make sustained use of the earnings potential along the value chain - from oil field to gas station, from gas field to electrical power supply. Focus on common objectives establishes synergies, lowers cost and is a clear competitive advantage for OMV.

Exploration & Production – seeking, discovering and producing oil and natural gas – is the businesses with the highest value creation and therefore reinforced with the majority of the investments. Similarly, Gas & Power – from transportation and storage of natural gas, across natural gas trading, through to the generation of electricity – is becoming increasingly important: not least due to climate protection measures is demand shifting increasingly from oil to natural gas, which creates significantly less CO2. OMV is preparing the next step into the future by making strategic investments in the generation of electricity and renewable energies.

Refining & Marketing – the conversion of crude oil into high quality petroleum products and the marketing thereof – is "the face of OMV to the end customer" with its some 2,300 filling stations. The majority of the refinery products needed for the entire Danube region is produced in the OMV refineries in Austria and Germany as well as in the two Petrom refineries in Romania.
