For the last five years Jumbo Offshore has been building its reputation as a solid installation contractor with a clear focus on subsea structures, mooring systems and smaller jackets and topsides. Our DP2 installation vessels Jumbo Javelin and Fairplayer are equipped with two 900 t Huisman mast cranes. With an enormous deck and large storage capacity these vessels are suitable for installation and transportation all in one go. In addition, our deepwater winches enable us to install equipment as deep as 3,300 meters. That’s what we call ‘Deep Thinking’.

For our Commercial Department we are looking for a;

Business Development Manager

Brief Description

The role of the regional Business Development Managers (BDM) combines the Business Development and Sales tasks for the specific region.  The BDM is charged with developing Jumbo Offshore’s business interests through identifying potential clients and projects, ensuring that Jumbo Offshore receives the invitation to tender and then positioning Jumbo Offshore so that a favourable bid can be submitted.  This includes the identification of partnering companies to bid with and also the formation of Joint Ventures with the partners as applicable.

Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Formation of Business Development strategy in conjunction with Commercial Manager
  • Identification of potential clients
  • Marketing and business development leading to receipt of ITT
  • Formation of bid strategy to win the work – if required the identification of partnering companies
  • Technical representation during marketing / sales / tender discussions
  • Pricing guidance to the head office based on competition analysis
  • First point of contact for clients in pre-tender stage
  • Customer relationship management
  • Generation of requests for quotation
  • Informing Jumbo Offshore headquarters in Rotterdam on regional market developments

Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of the offshore industry (subsea installation & topsides / jacket installation)
  • Capable of detailing the capabilities of the Jumbo Offshore fleet of heavy lift vessels
  • Good commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Good knowledge of rules & regulations (applicable to offshore transportation & installation jobs)

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5-10 years experience in the marine or offshore industry
  • 3 to 5 years in a sales / business development function in the offshore industry
  • Flexible, self employed and pro-active
  • Keen and analytical
  • Good commercial skills
  • Fully conversant in English (verbal / written)
